CURATING ON THE WEB The CURATING ON THE WEB — WEBINAR aims to stimulate and expand critical and practical thinking about curatorial work on the web. The webinar will focus on curatorial interventions online that challenge the mechanisms and traditional models of producing and displaying contemporary art; offering a historical overview and new perspectives and ways of imagining the system of contemporary art and ‘being online’. Over the course of 2 days (29-30 April), there will be a series of presentations and discussions moderated by the event organisers, and talks by guest speakers who will discuss their work and projects: ZHANG Ga (US) / Guido Segni (Green Cube Gallery) (IT) / Aarushi Surana and Kaushal Sapre (IN) / Virginie Tan and Astrid Lours-Riou (FR) / Guildor (IT) / Nimrod Vardi and Rebecca Edwards (arebyte Gallery) (UK) SCHEDULE DAY 1: Thursday 29th April, 6:00-8:30pm IST DAY 2: Friday 30th April, 6:00-8:30pm IST The webinar will be followed by a WORKSHOP (1 May) where participants will work with the moderators to generate observations, questions and speculative interventions related to curating on the web and the technological infrastructures in which it takes place. ⚈ Hosted by Walkin Studios and curating.online, this event is the result of a research collaboration with artist Vivek Chockalingam (Bangalore, India), curator Vidya Shivadas (New Delhi, India), researcher Padmini Ray Murray (Bangalore, India) and curator Gaia Tedone (Milan, Italy) with the support of Mobility First! – ASEF Cultural Mobility and the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity by the Italian Ministry of Culture under the Italian Council programme. |
